Ben Hushmand

Ben Hushmand, PhD, PE, is president of Hushmand Associates, Inc., a geotechnical and earthquake engineering consulting firm founded in 1990 in Irvine.  He was a faculty associate at Caltech from 1990 to 2003, teaching and conducting research in geotechnical and earthquake engineering.  Over the past 25 years, Ben has managed some of the most challenging projects involving seismic hazard evaluations and geotechnical investigations for large public works, industrial, and commercial projects, design and seismic evaluation of critical facilities such as ports, Department of Energy (DOE) research laboratories, schools, hospitals, police stations, bridges, and dams.  Ben also specializes in soil dynamics and soil-structure interaction.
